Host controller is the Adaptec 2940UW - SCSI BIOS rev is 1.22S. I've tried three different release CD's, 2.2.7, 3.1, and 3.4, and they all have the same behavior: they freeze during boot, before even any diagnostics are printed (i.e. freezes during "spinning wheel"). I've read about the install problems with newer 2940 BIOS revs, but haven't heard a solution. My system is a Dell XPS Pro200n, PPro 200MHz, 64MB EDO DRAM. CDROM is a Plextor 8X. >How-To-Repeat: Boot system with disk1 of 2.2.7, 3.2, or 3.4 RELEASE bootable CD. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
