Im having a very similar problem with my prism 2.5 wireless pci card, which i use as an access point. Im running under 4x [tried it on 4.8 and 4.9 with the same results]. It used to work fine. no weird error messages or watchdog timeouts. Then about a month and a half ago, i realized the access point was offline. I was forced to reboot the system to get it back online, but then moving large amounts of data over the wireless connection caused the same problem. As far as i know, I made no changes to the system [such as updating to -stable or even a more recent patch release]. I also havent changed the firmware since first getting the card and updating to the 1.04.09 station firmware [primary is 1.00.07]. I was planning to update my access point to 5.x, but it seems this might not help solve the problem. Anyway, I'm interested to know if theres been any solutions or changes in the problem. thanks yussef On Thu, 11 Dec 2003 14:19:03-0800"Kevin Oberman" wrote: > > Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2003 13:26:47 -0700 (MST) > > From: "M. The computer is a Compaq Presario 2100, ACPI is off, normal PCMCIA cards are working. I have tried two cards, a Linksys WPC11 ver4 and a D-link 650 (not a 650+). With each card it tells me : cbb0: cardbus activation failed cardbus0: at device 0.0 (no driver attached) cbb0: cardbuscard activation failed I haven't been able to find very much documentation in, " The FreeBSD 4th edition", or the Handbook. (Satellite Pro 42xx series) I think you have to press ESC while the Toshiba logo is showing on bootup. Also, on mine you can boot from the floppy by pressing and holding the "f" key while the logo is up and "c" for CDROM boot works too. These were not in my manual either, gleaned them from some Linux page... -- Regards: Szilveszter ADAM Budapest Hungary From owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Dec 29 13:38:14 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 20DAD16A4CE for ; Mon, 29 Dec 2003 13:38:14 -0800 (PST) Received: from eve.nldesign.com (db.nldesign.com [65.173.133.16]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 84D6243D5D for ; Mon, 29 Dec 2003 13:38:11 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from fabrizio@nldesign.com) Received: (qmail 68320 invoked from network); 29 Dec 2003 21:38:11 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO homer) (198.68.180.80) by db.nldesign.com with SMTP; 29 Dec 2003 21:38:11 -0000 Message-ID: <001b01c3ce54$0f2b3350$50b444c6@homer> From: "Fabry" To: Date: Mon, 29 Dec 2003 16:38:12 -0500 Organization: NightLight Design MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1165 Subject: ACPI / APM problems X-BeenThere: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Mobile computing with FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 29 Dec 2003 21:38:14 -0000 HI! I don't know if this is the right place where to post this problem!!! The problem is that I cannot have the duration of the battery on my laptop COMPAQ PRESARIO 1800 with BIOS phoenix (I don't find any update for the BIOS) I Have tried with APM and ACPI. With APM I can have the charge of it only in percent, but I don't know how to configure the POWER button to shutdown the machine as in ACPI. with ACPI I got some errors at the boot, and the suspend doesn't really work, the monitor stay on and when it "wake up" I get some errors that I think are related with the initial errors.
