Weird. I was too quick -- it can't stat /mnt, and it can't be cd'ed to. For information: G4/400 MHz, 256 MB RAM. It used to be running an older test install about 6 months ago. I tried with 5.2.1-rel but I'm having problems with PowerPC-targetted buildworld. I also tried to cross-compile recent -current off of 5.2.1-rel but it also fails. What is the known baseline that would cross-compile to PowerPC? Maybe I'm missing some patches that need to be applied first? thanks, Rafal From owner-freebsd-ppc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Oct 5 23:46:01 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 295EA16A4CE for ; Tue, 5 Oct 2004 23:46:01 +0000 (GMT) Received: from server1.astraldream.net (astraldream.net [69.20.5.160]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B324E43D64 for ; Tue, 5 Oct 2004 23:46:00 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ssouhlal@FreeBSD.org) Received: from [192.168.0.20] (63-170-138-118.cst-sg.blacksburg.ntc-com.net [63.170.138.118]) (authenticated (0 bits)) by server1.astraldream.net (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id i95NjqX16119 verified NO); Tue, 5 Oct 2004 19:45:57 -0400 From: Suleiman Souhlal To: Jaworowski Rafal-ARJ004 In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain Message-Id: <1097019948.65429.9.camel@zZzZ.segfaulted.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Ximian Evolution 1.4.6 Date: Tue, 05 Oct 2004 19:45:48 -0400 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit cc: "'ppc@freebsd.org'" Subject: Re: cross build env for PowerPC X-BeenThere: freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the PowerPC List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 05 Oct 2004 23:46:01 -0000 Hi, On Tue, 2004-10-05 at 04:37, Jaworowski Rafal-ARJ004 wrote: > What is the known baseline that would cross-compile to PowerPC? You probably need to apply http://people.freebsd.org/~ssouhlal/sysv4.h.diff I cross-compile from a 6.0-CURRENT box, but I think you should be able to do it from 5.2.1 (or 5.3) too.
