From: Garrett Cooper This problem description is incredibly vague. 1. How are you reproducing the issue? 2. What kind of distortion are you hearing? 3. Can you please provide the file or method of reproducing the sound? 4. What's your volume? Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2010 13:58:38 +0500 I set: mixer vol 100 mixer pcm 100 I start XMMS or Amarok and install it in volume - 100. Slishitsya hiss, crackle and distortion playback. If the lower vol and pcm to 70 - then everything is normal. This happens on any speakers or headphones, as with the amplifier and without it. X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2010 17:44:22 -0000 Hello, In MythTV 0.22 (at least the port to FreeBSD), the user 'mythtv' has '/nonexistent' as its home directory. This is good for security. But mythfilldatabase (or the grabbers it uses) usually fetch the config file from $HOME/.mythtv/.xmltv. If you set up MythTV to automatically run mythfilldatabase, it runs it as the 'mythtv' user. Since that user doesn't have a home directory anymore, mythfilldatabase fails. How is this supposed to work in MythTV 0.22? -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen
