Currently, ALTQ doesn't work with HARP. I haven't had time to figure out how the different settings of HARP interacts with queueing at the interface level. ALTQ over ATM isn't simple since the ATM drivers have their own interface abstraction and queueing... --Kenjiro To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-atm" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-atm Wed Mar 17 5:19:10 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-atm@freebsd.org Received: from btm4r4.alcatel.be (btm4r4.alcatel.be [195.207.101.110]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3AE1714CBB for ; Wed, 17 Mar 1999 05:19:05 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from livensw@rc.bel.alcatel.be) Received: from rc.bel.alcatel.be (btmq9s.rc.bel.alcatel.be [138.203.65.182]) by btm4r4.alcatel.be (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with SMTP id OAA27133; Wed, 17 Mar 1999 14:18:11 +0100 (MET) Received: from btm4fw.rc.bel.alcatel.be by rc.bel.alcatel.be id OAA26217; Wed, 17 Mar 1999 14:18:18 +0100 Received: by btm4fw.rc.bel.alcatel.be (SMI-8.6/SMI-SVR4) id OAA28626; Wed, 17 Mar 1999 14:19:27 +0100 Date: Wed, 17 Mar 1999 14:19:27 +0100 From: livensw@rc.bel.alcatel.be (Wim Livens) Message-Id: <199903171319.OAA28626@btm4fw.rc.bel.alcatel.be> To: kjc@csl.sony.co.jp Subject: Re: ATLQ support for HARP ? If I only have one PVC per logical interface and using ALTQ to limit the bandwidth to each logical interface such that the sum is =< than lets say 130 Mbps, I suppose there will be no congestion in the atm driver. Do you think this can work ? We're building a research testbed to play with ALTQ etc. I'm just using ATM as a wire to have these logical interfaces to avoid the hassle of multiple ethernet cards and cables.
