Is this the correct place to send this kind of question, or should it go elsewhere? Thanks! ---------- I'm confused: If I search in questions for the string "withrow" I get this message: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?db=irt&id=00ca01bf2d24$4dfc0da0$fba3f9cf@megared.net.mx But I don't find this message (which the previous one is a reply to, and was authored by me, "withrow"): http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?db=mid&id=199911111407.JAA20011@rwwa.com And if I search for "userconfig" I don't find either one of them, even though both messages have that string in the subject and the text. Seems like the search tool is either un-intuitive, or un-reliable. PS: In the above, searching for "Withrow" instead of "withrow" or "Userconfig" instead of "userconfig" doesn't change things. -- Robert Withrow -- (+1 978 288 8256) BWithrow@BayNetworks.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-www" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-www Mon Nov 29 22:17:44 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from ns2.jjsoft.com (fig2.figdav.com [208.152.114.19]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0645915772 for ; Mon, 29 Nov 1999 22:17:42 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from jahan@jjsoft.com) Received: from jjsoft.com (j3.sgw40.jaring.my [161.142.22.137]) by ns2.jjsoft.com (8.9.0/8.9.0) with ESMTP id AAA05850; Tue, 30 Nov 1999 00:17:33 -0600 (CST) Message-ID: <38437AC4.AB848381@jjsoft.com> Date: Tue, 30 Nov 1999 14:20:36 +0700 From: Aftab Jahan Subedar Reply-To: jahan@jjsoft.com Organization: Software Engineer J & J Software Solutions http://www.jjsoft.com X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.06 [en] (Win98; I) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: www@freebsd.org Cc: hanim@jjsoft.com.my Subject: FreeBSD: Users Group, Please add to your list. Wolfram added the date sorting function, if I recall correctly, so I'll let him have a stab at it first. ;-) More philosophically, a dillemma for information retrieval is that the algorithms that tend to work the best are relatively complicated and opaque to the user. When searches go wrong, it is terribly difficult to debug the queries to make them go right. But I'm not certain that is the problem here; I suspect a more basic bug in the CGI script. -john To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-www" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-www Thu Dec 2 21:22:54 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from Prime-FE2.lvcablemodem.com (pop3.lvcablemodem.com [24.234.0.11]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0864914C2A for ; Thu, 2 Dec 1999 21:22:51 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from derek@bemod.com) Received: from pop3.lvcablemodem.com - 24.234.0.11 by lvcablemodem.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Thu, 2 Dec 1999 21:28:47 -0800 Received: from bemod.com (dhcp160.92.lvcm.com [24.234.92.160]) by pop3.lvcablemodem.com with SMTP (MailShield v1.5); Thu, 02 Dec 1999 21:28:47 -0800 Message-ID: <3847527E.16209264@bemod.com> Date: Thu, 02 Dec 1999 21:17:50 -0800 From: Derek White Organization: bemod X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.61 [en] (X11; I; FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE i386) X-Accept-Language: en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: www@freebsd.org Subject: New FreeBSD user group Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk There is a new FreeBSD user group in Las Vegas, NV, USA called the Vegas Free Unix User Group.
