My setup is as follows: FreeBSD 3.4, AVM Fritz!PCI and TeleS 16.3 cards. We have both a British Telecom (BT) ISDN-2e line and a Telewest ISDN-2e line. When using the BT line everything works fine, however when the cards are plugged into the Telewest ISDN line, I get the following on the PC console: i4b-L2-i4b_T200_timeout: unit 0, RC = 0 i4b-L3-F_UEM: FSM function F_UEM executing, state = ST_U11 - Disc Req i4b-L3-T303_timeout: SETUP not answered, cr = 37 i4b-L3-next_l3state: FSM illegal state, state = ST_U0 - Null, event = EV_T303EXP - T303 timeout! This happens with both the Fritz and the TeleS cards. There is nothing wrong with the Telewest ISDN line (it works fine when plugged into traditional TAs). Can anyone help? The problem is, though, that I need to simulate timeouts, wrong return messages and general bad behaviour by the NT, ie. as close to a "real-world" situation as I can get. I have a SparcStation 10 here which has two ISDN ports which have both NT and TE functionality. Now, I *could* write the NT portion of the protocols and make them configurable, so I can test all sorts of behaviour, but it would take me quite some time to do this. My question is: are there any easier ways of testing comms software? How do I best go about this? All hints/suggestions *much* appreciated! The problem was the same as point 12 in the FAQ (and hence isn't Netherlands specific) The solution given in the FAQ is to supply the correct local phone number. However the problem is slightly more subtle than that. It would appear in cases like these that if the local calling party number _is_ specified, then it _must_ be correct, however if it _isn't_ specified then the exchange doesn't complain! A preferable solution in these cases is therefore to be able to disable sending of the local calling party information. The following patch (against the 3.4-RELEASE kernel) does this. If the local phone number is set to '*', then no calling party number is sent. The powers that be may wish to include this (or a similar patch) in a future release of the i4b code. I am using /dev/cuaa1 port, {Which I was told that wasn't correct}, but in my mind it is considering I have a external modem connect to comm2 port. I am using ppp to connect and everything thus far is working okay except I can not figure out how to get my second B channel to connect and bind. Right now only B1 will connect. So I was looking for alittle support, maybe I have missed something, or should I be using /dev/i4brbch0 && /dev/i4brbch1. If I try to use those ports I get device not configured errors, but both /dev/4brbch0 && /dev/i4brbch1 do exist. The only other inconvenience is set speed sync connects me at 9600 and I get packet header problem, so I was forced to use set speed 115200 which as u know will not show my true connect speed. Anyway, if you have any ideas I would appreciate them.
