I have read the specs. It is still optional if the device has no write cache. This is not the case for a raid controller which allows the drives behind to have write cache enabled. I strongly hope the controller in question explicitly disables it. Nevertheless I would expect it to be available on any modern device. OK - I have to revert that it can be a nop if there is nvram based cache. -- B.Walter COSMO-Project http://www.cosmo-project.de ticso@cicely.de Usergroup info@cosmo-project.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-scsi Wed Jun 12 18:57:29 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org Received: from wren.cs.unc.edu (wren.cs.unc.edu [152.2.128.86]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1811837B40A for ; Wed, 12 Jun 2002 18:57:12 -0700 (PDT) Received: from cs.unc.edu (IDENT:le@le-cs.cs.unc.edu [152.2.131.150]) by wren.cs.unc.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id VAA24189 for ; Wed, 12 Jun 2002 21:57:05 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: <3D07FBF0.6E310254@cs.unc.edu> Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 21:57:05 -0400 From: Long Le Organization: Computer Science Dept.
