I've patched the rtld-elf source, installed, installed the ports referenced above, and set up /etc/libmap.conf like linuxpluginwrapper's pkg-message says to do. But every time I launch mozilla, I get the following error: LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/local/lib/linux-flashplugin6/libflashplayer.so [Shared object "libpthread.so.0" not found] LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/local/Acrobat5/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so [Shared object "libc.so.6" not found] The only thing I haven't done is built+installed world since Oct. 25th. Any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks in advance, Jay Shollenberger From owner-freebsd-mozilla@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Jan 5 20:55:43 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-mozilla@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4BED616A4CE for ; Mon, 5 Jan 2004 20:55:43 -0800 (PST) Received: from web80805.mail.yahoo.com (web80805.mail.yahoo.com [66.163.170.100]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 54F9A43D31 for ; Mon, 5 Jan 2004 20:55:42 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from buttmanizer@yahoo.com) Message-ID: <20040106045542.34258.qmail@web80805.mail.yahoo.com> Received: from [202.92.128.25] by web80805.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Tue, 06 Jan 2004 04:55:42 GMT Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2004 04:55:42 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Jose=20Maria=20Kulalapnot?= To: freebsd-mozilla@freebsd.org In-Reply-To: <3FFA3372.1080506@speakeasy.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Subject: Re: linuxpluginwrapper woes X-BeenThere: freebsd-mozilla@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Mozilla browser issues List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2004 04:55:43 -0000 Same problem here, although im running 5.1 current. The plugins are loaded from /usr/X11R6/lib/browser_plugins/ but they are really just links to the actual plugins. I guess this sometimes screws up libmap'ing. You might try the same thing for the nppdf.so entry. Also make sure that linux-flashplugin5 is not installed and that the plugin is not in /usr/X11R6/lib/browser_plugins. This query should at least net some answers. I've abandoned Linux Netscape Navigator 4.8 and have been trying to upgrade to Linux Mozilla Firebird. Firebird itself, and the Shockwave Flash plugin work fine but Java plugins have been resisting me. It seems like a good time to pause and ask some questions: 1. Does linux-mozillafirebird actually even need a Java plugin? I've been trying to install one because native Mozilla required java/jdk14, or it would complain (according to its build messages). But, there aren't any similar build messages from linux-mozillafirebird. Incidently, I abandoned native Mozilla because the Linux plugin wrapper required a modification to the 4.9 distribution source, and I don't want to have to make manual changes to the source every time I cvsup the latest from STABLE. 2. If linux-mozillafirebird doesn't need a Java plugin, what are the Blackdown, IBM, and Sun plugins good for, anyway? 3. If it does need a plugin, what are the relative advantages of linux-blackdown-jdk14, linux-ibm-jdk14, and linux-sun-jdk14? 4. Again, assuming that a plugin is needed, how do I provide linux-ibm-jdk14 and linux-sun-jdk14 with a libgcc_s.so.1 file, or provide linux-blackdown-jdk14 with the symbol, GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager? They each complain that something is missing when linux-mozillafirebird starts. Any advice will be considered; any polite advice will be appreciated. -- M/S 258-5 |1024-bit PGP fingerprint:|tweten@nas.nasa.gov NASA Ames Research Center | 41 B0 89 0A 8F 94 6C 59| (650) 604-4416 Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000| 7C 80 10 20 25 C7 2F E6|FAX: (650) 604-4377 Not an official NASA position.
