These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The problem is understood and a solution is being sought. f - feedback Further work requires additional information from the originator or the community - possibly confirmation of the effectiveness of a proposed solution. p - patched A patch has been committed, but some issues (MFC and / or confirmation from originator) are still open. r - repocopy The resolution of the problem report is dependent on a repocopy operation within the CVS repository which is awaiting completion. s - suspended The problem is not being worked on, due to lack of information or resources. This is a prime candidate for somebody who is looking for a project to do. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested -- or when fixing the problem is abandoned. Important thing is, that you have the man page now in the source tree, so if you do not have NO_MAN in your make.conf, it should be installed this time properly. > And the lagg(4) man page isn't in 6.2-stable: > http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Dlagg&apropos=3D0&sektion=3D0&m= anpath=3DFreeBSD+6.2-stable&format=3Dhtml Ok, this is pretty common problem of the man.cgi, since the manual pages that are on-line are not synchronized with the current states of the branches all the time. > But I found in 7.0-current: > http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=3Dlagg&apropos=3D0&sektion=3D0&m= anpath=3DFreeBSD+7-current&format=3Dhtml This is correct. > " > ... > HISTORY > The lagg device first appeared in FreeBSD 7.0. > So, why it should appear in 6.2 stable, and the man page says 7.0? Therefore the documentation should read raid 0+1 instead of raid10. If I am in error (which I doubt, but it is a matter of how you read it) then a clarification should be given in the documentation to avoid confusion. It should also be noted that gvinum lacks the ability to do a stripe of mirrors. (well, I can't seem to figure out how to configure it; technically, I don't see why gvinum couldn't handle it if it were possible to configure it.) In this page they have mentioned following phrase "The very last thing in the POST is the INT 0x19 instruction. That instruction reads 512 bytes from the first sector of boot device into the memory at address 0x7c00". AFAIK INT0x19 is a reboot service. So I got confused. In full mode, you can see it. In split mode, it's not on the page, which makes the license look weird. If so I will gladly write up a patch to > fix the handbook. /home by default is only a symlink to /usr/home if you do not set up /home on its own filesystem and even then the instructions say: : Note: This assumes that the jails are based under : the /home partition. This can, of course, be changed : to anything else, but this change will have to be : reflected in each of the examples below. I can hardly see how qualifying it further will clarify anything. -- -- From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Jun 23 20:50:02 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8699216A46C for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [69.147.83.40]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5355713C484 for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id l5NKo2CA001598 for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id l5NKo21e001597; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Resent-Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 GMT Resent-Message-Id: <200706232050.l5NKo21e001597@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org (GNATS Filer) Resent-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, Marian Cerny Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [69.147.83.52]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3AD3016A468 for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:40:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nobody@FreeBSD.org) Received: from www.freebsd.org (www.freebsd.org [69.147.83.33]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2F08613C455 for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:40:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nobody@FreeBSD.org) Received: from www.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by www.freebsd.org (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id l5NKeHqs000433 for ; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:40:17 GMT (envelope-from nobody@www.freebsd.org) Received: (from nobody@localhost) by www.freebsd.org (8.13.1/8.13.1/Submit) id l5NKeHrY000432; Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:40:17 GMT (envelope-from nobody) Message-Id: <200706232040.l5NKeHrY000432@www.freebsd.org> Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:40:17 GMT From: Marian Cerny To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org X-Send-Pr-Version: www-3.0 Cc: Subject: docs/113975: periodic(8): weekly usually runs on Saturday not Sunday X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2007 20:50:02 -0000 >Number: 113975 >Category: docs >Synopsis: periodic(8): weekly usually runs on Saturday not Sunday >Confidential: no >Severity: non-critical >Priority: low >Responsible: freebsd-doc >State: open >Quarter: >Keywords: >Date-Required: >Class: doc-bug >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Sat Jun 23 20:50:01 GMT 2007 >Closed-Date: >Last-Modified: >Originator: Marian Cerny >Release: FreeBSD 6.2R >Organization: >Environment: FreeBSD claire 6.2-RELEASE-p5 FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p5 #0: Tue Jun 19 11:51:38 CEST 2007 majo@claire:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/CLAIRE i386 >Description: The description of weekly argument says it usually occurs on Sunday mornings: weekly Perform the standard weekly periodic executable run.
