USB host is not detected, ohci as far as I know is loaded in usb.ko :(=20 Probably it is due to "Multifunctional" PCMCI card - it has two functions - one of functions is uart port (detected, attached, but does not respond).=20 And another function, looks like, USB host adapter - it is not detected by FreeBSD. function ID=3D254 looks strange for me, see below log. Only PCMCI USB adapter I've found in tree besides [oeu]hci is slhci=20 (/sys/dev/usb/sl*, /sys/modules/slhci/, no manpage) It does not detect this card also. pccard0: check_cis_quirks pccard0: CIS version PC Card Standard 8.0 pccard0: CIS info: Ubiquam, UM-300, ,=20 pccard0: Manufacturer code 0x15d, product 0x4c45 pccard0: function 0: unknown (254), ccr addr 200 mask 73 pccard0: function 0, config table entry 55: I/O card; irq mask ffff; iomask= 3, iospace 2f8-300; io8 irqshare irqlevel pccard0: function 1: serial port, ccr addr 220 mask 63 pccard0: function 1, config table entry 63: I/O card; irq mask ffff; iomask= 3, iospace 3f8-400; io8 irqshare irqlevel pccard0: functions scanning pccard0: Card has 2 functions. pccard_mfc is 1 pccard0: I/O rid 0 start 2f8 end 300 pccard0: Allocation failed for cfe 55 pccard0: No config entry could be allocated. pccard0: I/O rid 0 start 3f8 end 400 pccard0: ccr_res =3D=3D 88000000-880003ff, base=3D220 unknown: MFC: I/O base 0 IOSIZE 0x1 pccard0: function 0 CCR at 0 offset 0: 8f 77 cc 77, ff ff ff 8f, 77 pccard0: function 1 CCR at 0 offset 220: 7f 20 0 0, 0 0 0 0, 0 uart0: at port 0x400-0x408 irq 16 function 1 config 63 on = pccard0 uart0: MFC: I/O base 0x400 IOSIZE 0x10 uart0: MFC: I/O base 0x400 IOSIZE 0x10 uart0: [FILTER] pccard0: function 1 CCR at 0 offset 220 mask 63: 7f 20 0 0, 0 4 0 0, 0 cis mem map 0xe7b37000 (resource: 0x88010000) > Regards, > Brix --=20 Vladimir B. The modem in it supposedly works (based on http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-bugs/2007-April/023492.html, but first you have to make it switch from mass storage device (containing Windows drivers) to modem. But the mode switching implemented by iconv_switch (against libusb, referenced in the post above) requires two functions that don't seem implemented on FreeBSD: % gcc -L/usr/local/lib -lusb -lusbpp -I/usr/local/include -o ttt icon_switch.c prometheus:/tmp(1) /var/tmp//ccCnzzjn.o(.text+0x26e): In function `main': : undefined reference to `usb_get_driver_np' /var/tmp//ccCnzzjn.o(.text+0x2a7): In function `main': : undefined reference to `usb_detach_kernel_driver_np' Would anyone know of a way to make such USB dongles work, other than properly looking into this stuff and making the necessary code changes? -- / Peter Schuller PGP userID: 0xE9758B7D or 'Peter Schuller ' Key retrieval: Send an E-Mail to getpgpkey@scode.org E-Mail: peter.schuller@infidyne.com Web: http://www.scode.org From owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Aug 31 18:56:22 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8CD6916A41A for ; Fri, 31 Aug 2007 18:56:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from peter.schuller@infidyne.com) Received: from proxy1.bredband.net (proxy1.bredband.net [195.54.101.71]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A8B913C45A for ; Fri, 31 Aug 2007 18:56:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from peter.schuller@infidyne.com) Received: from prometheus.scode.org (85.229.22.84) by proxy1.bredband.net (7.3.127) id 46D6D3CB0006D095 for freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org; Fri, 31 Aug 2007 20:55:57 +0200 Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by prometheus.scode.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B3DDD1CC7B for ; Fri, 31 Aug 2007 20:56:12 +0200 (CEST) From: Peter Schuller To: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2007 20:56:11 +0200 User-Agent: KMail/1.9.7 References: <200708311820.08340.peter.schuller@infidyne.com> In-Reply-To: <200708311820.08340.peter.schuller@infidyne.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Message-Id: <200708312056.12233.peter.schuller@infidyne.com> Subject: Re: Option HSDPA USB dongle and mode switching X-BeenThere: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Mobile computing with FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2007 18:56:22 -0000 > % gcc -L/usr/local/lib -lusb -lusbpp -I/usr/local/include -o ttt > icon_switch.c prometheus:/tmp(1) > > /var/tmp//ccCnzzjn.o(.text+0x26e): In function `main': > : undefined reference to `usb_get_driver_np' > > /var/tmp//ccCnzzjn.o(.text+0x2a7): In function `main': > : undefined reference to `usb_detach_kernel_driver_np' > > Would anyone know of a way to make such USB dongles work, other than > properly looking into this stuff and making the necessary code changes? Simply eliminating the driver attach/detach attemps makes the tool compile and run, though it complains that it cannot find the device (even though the product/vendor matches the config file). I guess it's not visible to the API when the driver is attached or some such. -- / Peter Schuller PGP userID: 0xE9758B7D or 'Peter Schuller ' Key retrieval: Send an E-Mail to getpgpkey@scode.org E-Mail: peter.schuller@infidyne.com Web: http://www.scode.org
