The buildworld process can be quite long, but luckily, you only need to do it once, no matter how many FreeBSD machines you operate. In this document, I will describe how to keep multiple machines updated from only one copy of the ports tree, and one copy of the system sources." Article located at: http://www.openaddict.com/node/35 Creating and Managing A Jailed Virtual Host in FreeBSD by Jonathan Horne "It is possible to spawn a completely jailed second (or many!) operating system within a modern FreeBSD install. Doing so can be tricky, but here I will document the method that I have found works for me. The first most important resource about jails, is the man page, and many of the examples that you will see are basically straight following of the man page. Once you are done, each jail will operate as if its a complete independant operating system." Article located at: http://www.openaddict.com/node/36 Sincerely, Rich Morgan Open Addict From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Oct 20 13:40:07 2007 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A752516A419 for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 071B013C45D for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id l9KDe13J028763 for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1/Submit) id l9KDe1Kb028762; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Resent-Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:01 GMT Resent-Message-Id: <200710201340.l9KDe1Kb028762@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org (GNATS Filer) Resent-To: freebsd-www@FreeBSD.org Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, Gavin Cameron Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0925E16A46B for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:35:14 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nobody@FreeBSD.org) Received: from www.freebsd.org (www.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::21]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EA35113C478 for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:35:13 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from nobody@FreeBSD.org) Received: from www.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by www.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1) with ESMTP id l9KDYtjd038745 for ; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:34:55 GMT (envelope-from nobody@www.freebsd.org) Received: (from nobody@localhost) by www.freebsd.org (8.14.1/8.14.1/Submit) id l9KDYsbl038741; Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:34:54 GMT (envelope-from nobody) Message-Id: <200710201334.l9KDYsbl038741@www.freebsd.org> Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:34:54 GMT From: Gavin Cameron To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org X-Send-Pr-Version: www-3.1 Cc: Subject: www/117358: Request to change RSS feeds to include pubDate information for items X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 13:40:07 -0000 >Number: 117358 >Category: www >Synopsis: Request to change RSS feeds to include pubDate information for items >Confidential: no >Severity: non-critical >Priority: low >Responsible: freebsd-www >State: open >Quarter: >Keywords: >Date-Required: >Class: change-request >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Sat Oct 20 13:40:01 UTC 2007 >Closed-Date: >Last-Modified: >Originator: Gavin Cameron >Release: 4, 5 & 6 >Organization: n/a >Environment: N/a >Description: The current RSS news feeds provided on the FreeBSD home page do not provide a pubDate for the items in the news feeds. I am placing a new aggregator on the new VicFUG website and since the feeds http://www.freebsd.org/news/news.rdf and http://www.freebsd.org/security/advisories.rdf do not have the pubDate information in the feed they do not interoperate nicely with other news feeds in the aggregated feed. If pubDate is included the FreeBSD news will be able to be incorporated in the aggregated feed in the correct date order. RSS 2.0 maybe the easiest solution. I am willing to help if required. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
