Last night I tried commenting out "SUBDIR+= multimedia" in the Makefile and got a clean build just with "make install". So I was looking at multimedia as the probable culprit rather than the possibility that I had not paid close attention to the build documentation. I just assumed that "make install" would include any pre-requisite targets. I agree with you that it shouldn't install before doing the necessary things, but then I haven't spend any time on figuring out how it works, I just used the FDP primer :-) Edwin -- Edwin Groothuis | Personal website: http://www.mavetju.org edwin@mavetju.org | Weblog: http://www.mavetju.org/weblog/ From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Jul 3 13:40:02 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 416FC106564A for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:40:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 106D28FC0C for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:40:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (gnats@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.2/8.14.2) with ESMTP id m63De1EP017975 for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:40:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.2/8.14.1/Submit) id m63De1Cc017974; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:40:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Resent-Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:40:01 GMT Resent-Message-Id: <200807031340.m63De1Cc017974@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org (GNATS Filer) Resent-To: freebsd-www@FreeBSD.org Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, Edwin Groothuis Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B6777106567B for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:30:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from edwin@mavetju.org) Received: from mail5out.barnet.com.au (mail5.barnet.com.au [202.83.178.78]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 56E7C8FC1C for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 13:30:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from edwin@mavetju.org) Received: by mail5out.barnet.com.au (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 223312218A62; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 23:30:04 +1000 (EST) Received: from mail5auth.barnet.com.au (mail5.barnet.com.au [202.83.178.78]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail5auth.barnet.com.au", Issuer "*.barnet.com.au" (verified OK)) by mail5.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id D212A21B3EEF for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 23:30:03 +1000 (EST) Received: from k7.mavetju (unknown [10.10.26.6]) by mail5auth.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id 57AA82218A41 for ; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 23:30:03 +1000 (EST) Received: by k7.mavetju (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 594A49A1; Thu, 3 Jul 2008 23:29:46 +1000 (EST) Message-Id: <20080703132946.594A49A1@k7.mavetju> Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2008 23:29:46 +1000 (EST) From: Edwin Groothuis To: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org X-Send-Pr-Version: 3.113 Cc: Subject: www/125218: [patch] Update www/en/multimedia with new entries X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Edwin Groothuis List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 03 Jul 2008 13:40:02 -0000 >Number: 125218 >Category: www >Synopsis: [patch] Update www/en/multimedia with new entries >Confidential: no >Severity: non-critical >Priority: low >Responsible: freebsd-www >State: open >Quarter: >Keywords: >Date-Required: >Class: change-request >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Thu Jul 03 13:40:01 UTC 2008 >Closed-Date: >Last-Modified: >Originator: Edwin Groothuis >Release: FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE-p1 i386 >Organization: - >Environment: System: FreeBSD k7.mavetju 7.0-RELEASE-p1 FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE-p1 #2: Wed May 28 08:12:56 EST 2008 edwin@k7.mavetju:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/k7 i386 >Description: >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: Index: multimedia-input.xml =================================================================== RCS file: /home/dcvs/www/en/multimedia/multimedia-input.xml,v retrieving revision 1.4 diff -u -r1.4 multimedia-input.xml --- multimedia-input.xml 12 Jun 2008 19:02:27 -0000 1.4 +++ multimedia-input.xml 3 Jul 2008 13:28:03 -0000 @@ -9,6 +9,87 @@ + + Michael W.
