Sorry, my French is terrible. But I will reply in English -- hopefully you may still find it useful. If you are just complaining about the stale documentation, then you should file a Problem Report or at least send an email message to the doc@FreeBSD.org. If you need to find disk images, then be advised that the floppy disks are no longer being built for some architectures by the release engineering team: http://svn.freebsd.org/viewvc/base?view=3Drevision&revision=3D188437 The images that are still being built can be found for i386 at: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i386/8.0/ or the corresponding directories for other architectures. If you need floppies, you can still build them on a FreeBSD system by setting MAKE_FLOPPIES=3Dyes when making a release. You may even be able to persuade the release engineering team to build them if there are enough people who still want them. Cordially, b. The VirtualHost section is merely imprecise: ``NameVirtualHost *'' covers all interfaces and all ports, thus it's *very* ambiguous. The second issue is with the PHP configuration, which is plain wrong. AddType is something to communicate the mime-type to the browser. (See http://www.devside.net/articles/php as an example discussion for the why.) Also it's quite silly to have a section right after a LoadModule, much more so, twice for two directives. >How-To-Repeat: Take a look at: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/network-apache.html >Fix: The virtualhost section should be replaced with: NameVirtualHost *:80 And: ServerName www.domain.tld DocumentRoot /www/domain.tld ServerName www.someotherdomain.tld DocumentRoot /www/someotherdomain.tld The PHP section can be simplified to: LoadModule php5_module libexec/apache/libphp5.so DirectoryIndex index.php index.html SetHandler application/x-httpd-php ## Optionally, pretty Source-Rendering: # # SetHandler application/x-httpd-php-source # In general: You can, by now, refer to the PHP documentation: http://php.net/manual/en/install.unix.apache2.php >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Dec 24 12:33:54 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 067131065676 for ; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mexas@bristol.ac.uk) Received: from dirj.bris.ac.uk (dirj.bris.ac.uk [137.222.10.78]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BAA798FC08 for ; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:53 +0000 (UTC) Received: from isis.bris.ac.uk ([137.222.10.63]) by dirj.bris.ac.uk with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1NNmt4-0002nC-FL for freebsd-doc@freebsd.org; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:52 +0000 Received: from mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk ([137.222.187.241]) by isis.bris.ac.uk with esmtp (Exim 4.67) (envelope-from ) id 1NNmt3-0005qx-Mn for freebsd-doc@freebsd.org; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:50 +0000 Received: from mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk (8.14.3/8.14.3) with ESMTP id nBOCXn8S049981 for ; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:49 GMT (envelope-from mexas@bristol.ac.uk) Received: (from mexas@localhost) by mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id nBOCXnoc049980 for freebsd-doc@freebsd.org; Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:49 GMT (envelope-from mexas@bristol.ac.uk) X-Authentication-Warning: mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk: mexas set sender to mexas@bristol.ac.uk using -f Date: Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:49 +0000 From: Anton Shterenlikht To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20091224123349.GA49959@mech-cluster241.men.bris.ac.uk> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.20 (2009-06-14) X-Spam-Score: -4.5 X-Spam-Level: ---- Subject: snd_audiocs on-line manual missing X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:33:54 -0000 page http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=snd_audiocs&sektion=4&manpath=FreeBSD+8.0-RELEASE returns Sorry, no data found for `snd_audiocs(4)'. The Handbook section deals with Apache 1.3.x, as is explicitly stated in the overview. The version is still widely used. As for the port specification in VirtualHost directive, the Apache manual gives its examples without it and explains that "it defaults to the same port as the most recent Port statement of the main server". To match all ports on all addresses, I think we would need to specify "*:*". http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/core.html#virtualhost As for the the way PHP is enabled, the IfModule wrapper is a convenience, since it allows to disable all PHP-related configuration by commenting just one line. The AddType statements are the recommended way to enable PHP in Apache 1.3.x: http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.unix.apache.php http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=141937 From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Dec 26 08:33:05 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 81038106568B for ; Sat, 26 Dec 2009 08:33:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bounceothers1@carproperty.com) Received: from mail.carproperty.com (mail.carproperty.com [207.230.28.89]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C97518FC0C for ; Sat, 26 Dec 2009 08:33:04 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail.carproperty.com (mail2.carproperty.com [127.0.0.1]) by mail.carproperty.com (8.14.2/8.14.2) with ESMTP id nBQ8LJ7k006812 for ; Sat, 26 Dec 2009 00:21:19 -0800 Received: (from root@localhost) by mail.carproperty.com (8.14.2/8.14.2/Submit) id nBQ8LJOY006811; Sat, 26 Dec 2009 00:21:19 -0800 To: From: "CarProperty.com" Date: Fri, 25 Dec 2009 20:00:02 -0800 X-LibVersion: 3.3.1_4 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-MimeOLE: Produced by SwiftMailer 3.3.1_4 X-mid: ZG9jQGZyZWVic2Qub3JnICwgbTI0Ng== X-Mailer: AC Mailer Message-ID: <20091226082119.3182.1172736793.swift@mail.carproperty.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: A Toys for Tots donation is easy with us X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 26 Dec 2009 08:33:05 -0000 CarProperty.com Toys For Tots Holiday Donation Program - 2,765,888 registered members.
