I have a windows machine, which I've installed iSCSI target software on, and set it up. I'm using FreeBSD 7.2-STABLE - and I've setup iSCSI as an initiator on that. At the end of the day, I get the following logged when I've finished setting it up: " Jan 12 20:25:30 test kernel: da0 at iscsi0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 Jan 12 20:25:30 test kernel: da0: Fixed Direct Access SCSI-4 device Jan 12 20:26:21 test kernel: GEOM_LABEL: Label for provider da0s1 is ufsid/4b4cdaed5db746bf. " I can label, partition, format and mount da0 - and everything works fine, which looks pretty successful. Until I 'break the connection' - either by restarting the windows iSCSI target, or pulling the network cable. Whatever was in progress on da0 expectedly freezes. However, when the connection is available again - nothing seems to re-attach, continue, or error. I'd guess I may be being optimistic if I expected it to re-attach, and continue without error - but is there any way of either avoiding the freeze (or raining in the timeout) - or forcing things to try to reconnect? I don't mind getting errors, or trashing the iSCSI drive (it's only used for shifting backups on to large drives on the windows machine) - but as it is, the only way to recover is to restart the FreeBSD box. If someone can point me in the right direction, or explain what's "meant to happen" that'd be great, Thanks, -Karl From owner-freebsd-scsi@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Jan 13 11:36:46 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 57960106566B for ; Wed, 13 Jan 2010 11:36:46 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from samflanker@gmail.com) Received: from mail-bw0-f213.google.com (mail-bw0-f213.google.com [209.85.218.213]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CE8BA8FC08 for ; Wed, 13 Jan 2010 11:36:45 +0000 (UTC) Received: by bwz5 with SMTP id 5so15323239bwz.3 for ; Wed, 13 Jan 2010 03:36:39 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from :user-agent:mime-version:to:subject:references:in-reply-to :content-type:content-transfer-encoding; bh=/4XmHEr2G2hlu51iMHTfUTbbPofl14pJLuy9YqmdQJs=; b=ekuJAYbfvL8+zqOd6LzCWjLc2PXft56P2mJ1dqERHTLcM1sqpXD7D8jMZqq2k29VWq 02LfyglGc2Gp+gQ3ExY3mfvEZAhdhEb4nMask5bAVlWMx+3d7VYdx9V7BWUBzoB0/h/U VTN4G0Rukp20aYe+zDpxkPgzUFwCAIwBmylF4= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=message-id:date:from:user-agent:mime-version:to:subject:references :in-reply-to:content-type:content-transfer-encoding; b=AjM4zTNJhPWdQNeRdfOJV0tuaI6Thi8rHYU0qIdELbPOvwKd8OYNvTabOgYnnNo8hw whkKIqUmxVv6GldN5tmSvBdpuQMnhQ5rs+B9lKf3UzLJo2hH61CBkahceu+IPzbnJaVH syRk/xWZfKc8jNjbsieUyGN5Lozb1mUJ/GPjI= Received: by 10.204.154.213 with SMTP id p21mr1299004bkw.163.1263382599405; Wed, 13 Jan 2010 03:36:39 -0800 (PST) Received: from localhost.localdomain ([213.152.137.43]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPS id 13sm9846171bwz.14.2010.01.13.03.36.37 (version=SSLv3 cipher=RC4-MD5); Wed, 13 Jan 2010 03:36:38 -0800 (PST) Message-ID: <4B4DB05F.7010901@gmail.com> Date: Wed, 13 Jan 2010 14:37:03 +0300 From: Vladimir Ermakov User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091209 Fedora/3.0-4.fc12 Thunderbird/3.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org References: <4B4B4310.1060909@gmail.com> In-Reply-To: <4B4B4310.1060909@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: Re: not mount root after add `amrp` device X-BeenThere: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: SCSI subsystem List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 13 Jan 2010 11:36:46 -0000 On 01/11/2010 06:26 PM, Vladimir Ermakov wrote: > hello, all > > # uname -a > FreeBSD damascus 8.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-p2 #0: Mon Jan 11 > 12:40:28 CET 2010 root@damascus:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/DAMASCUS i386 > > have `LSILogic Intel(R) RAID Controller SRCU42X` > need passthrough interface to `amr` device for connect to HDDs with > smartmontools > after load modules cam.ko, amr_cam and enter command `camcontrol > rescan all`, all works > > but after added `amrp` device to kernel, compile/install and reboot > with new kernel, system is can not mount root point verbose part from /var/log/messages (stage after boot, kldload arm_cam.ko, camcontrol rescan all ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jan 12 10:35:25 damascus kernel: Timecounters tick every 1.000 msec Jan 12 10:35:25 damascus kernel: IPsec: Initialized Security Association Processing. Subject: Next of kin/Will Beneficiary to Mr. McCoy Meyers. Good Day Friend, This is a personal email directed to you and I request that it be treated as such. I am Henning Hansen Esq. a Denmark national, I have live and worked in London United Kingdom for 17 years with my family which I am the personal attorney/sole executor to the late Mr. McCoy Meyers of Dublin Ireland. Herein after referred to as " my client" I represent the interest of my client killed with his immediate family in a small plane crash near Eveleth, Minnesota on October 25, 2002 and I will like to negotiate the terms of investment of resources available to him. My client was a contractor to Shell Petroleum Development Company, United Kingdom (SPDC), and had left behind a deposit of Three Million British Pounds Sterling only (£3,000,000.00 GBP) with a Bank here in United Kingdom where I am presently residing. The funds originated from contract transactions he executed in his registered area of business. Just after his death, I was contacted by his Bank to provide his next of kin; reasons being that his deposit agreement contains a residuary clause giving his personal attorney express authority to nominate the beneficiary to his funds. Unknown to the Bank here in London United Kingdom that my client had left no possible trace of any of his close relative with me, making all efforts in my part to locate his family relative proved to be unfruitful since his death. Note down from my clients own story, he was only adopted and his foster parents whom he lost in 1976, according to him, had no possible trace of his real family. By virtue of my closeness to the deceased and his immediate family, I am very much aware of my client's financial standing. I do sincerely sympathize the death of my client, but had thought it unprofitable for his funds to be submitted to the government of this co! untry and the finance institution where the fund is lodged. On this note, I decided to search for a credible person and was moved to contact you to put up a claim to the bank in that capacity as a next of kin/will beneficiary to my client, so that the proceeds of his bank account valued at Three Million British Pounds Sterling only (£3,000,000.00 GBP) can be paid to you before getting confiscated or declared unserviceable to the Bank where this huge deposit is lodged. Note that this is legal and 100% risk free. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law. As I said, I require only a solemn confidentiality on this. Please get in touch via my alternative email: esq_hsen@live.com for better confidentiality and if okay by you, send me your full name and address, telephone and fax numbers to enable us discuss further on this transaction and also to enable me go to the British High Court here in London and secure all legal documentation on your behalf to enable you get the legal backing to the claim If this proposal is acceptable by you. I am looking forward to your understanding and co-operation. Kind Regards. Henning Hansen Esq. Check Weebly out at http://www.weebly.com/?i ---------------------- Weebly values your privacy.
