Quite few HDA codecs can do this now, so this feature is not even implemented in snd_hda driver. But even if it would be possile, switching recording from mic to post-mix would cause echo to your Skype peer, as Skype would also recorded what it just played. -- Alexander Motin From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Aug 16 18:07:23 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A04AC106566B for ; Tue, 16 Aug 2011 18:07:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from eterpe-smout.broadpark.no (eterpe-smout.broadpark.no [80.202.8.16]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 598FE8FC12 for ; Tue, 16 Aug 2011 18:07:23 +0000 (UTC) MIME-version: 1.0 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII Received: from ignis-smin.broadpark.no ([80.202.8.11]) by eterpe-smout.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u3-15.01 64bit (built Feb 12 2010)) with ESMTP id <0LQ100ABK909KK50@eterpe-smout.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.org; Tue, 16 Aug 2011 20:07:21 +0200 (CEST) Received: from kg-v2.kg4.no ([80.203.92.230]) by ignis-smin.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u3-15.01 64bit (built Feb 12 2010)) with SMTP id <0LQ10056Z909H120@ignis-smin.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.org; Tue, 16 Aug 2011 20:07:21 +0200 (CEST) Date: Tue, 16 Aug 2011 20:07:21 +0200 From: Torfinn Ingolfsen To: freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.org Message-id: <20110816200721.eeb717d4.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> In-reply-to: References: X-Mailer: Sylpheed 3.1.1 (GTK+ 2.24.5; amd64-portbld-freebsd8.2) X-Face: "t9w2,-X@O^I`jVW\sonI3.,36KBLZE*AL[y9lL[PyFD*r_S:dIL9c[8Y>V42R0"!"yb_zN,f#%.[PYYNq; m"_0v; ~rUM2Yy!zmkh)3&U|u!=T(zyv,MHJv"nDH>OJ`t(@mil461d_B'Uo|'nMwlKe0Mv=kvV?Nh@>Hb<3s_z2jYgZhPb@?Wi^x1a~Hplz1.zH Cc: Subject: Re: Driver TV 250/350 X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 16 Aug 2011 18:07:23 -0000 On Tue, 16 Aug 2011 15:58:34 +0400 hasanhasanli Hasan wrote: > I'm installing driver for TV 250/250. > My question is: What's mean: > > Warning: Object directory not changed from original /usr/ports/multimedia/pvrxxx/work/modules/cxm/cxm_cx25840fw > @ -> /usr/src/sys It is just a warning; just ignore it. My old MythTV backend[1] crumbled due to hardware failures as I was doing some maintenace on it (trying to replace a couple of failed hard drives - how ironic). Long story short, I ended up replacing motherboard (including cpu and memory), system hard drive and the data hard drives (mirror). I reused the rest, including the PVR-500 tuner card. The new machine got it's os upgraded a bit; it now runs FreeBSD 6.4-stable instead of 6.2-stable: tingo@kg-fil$ uname -a FreeBSD kg-fil.kg4.no 6.4-STABLE FreeBSD 6.4-STABLE #0: Sat Aug 13 17:30:21 CEST 2011 root@kg-fil.kg4.no:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/FIL62 amd64 The specifications for the reincarnated machine is here[2]. The integrated NIC on the new motherboard didn't work with the old version of FreeBSD (neither 6.2 nor 6.4 detected the card), and other cards I had which were using the re(4) or rl(4) driver didn't work; in the end I used a 3Com 3C905B-TX card. Points to note: - I use analog cable with a Hauppauge PVR-500 card - I use this driver[4] for the PVR-500 card. It compiles without trouble under FreeBSD 6.4 (but you need to make patch-iicbb and make a new kernel) - I am running an old version of MythTV (0.20 - mythbackend version: 0.20.20060828-3 www.mythtv.org) the reasons for this is that I have been unable (even with help from port maintainers and other knowledgeable people on this list) to get newer versions (0.24, 0.23 and perhaps 0.22 as well) of MythTV to work with my PVR-500 card. - I am running an old version of FreeBSD (6.4-stable now, before it was running 6.2-stable) as the os on this machine, mainly because this was the "going version" back in 2006 when the machine was set up, and I didn't dare upgrade the os too much when using an old ports tree. Eventually I will test if the the old version of MythTV, drivers, etc will work on FreeBSD 8.x-stable. - my MythTV frontend is a Mac mini G4[3] running OS X. - this setup is capable of playing SD, but not HD content. The frontend is too slow to play HD content. I haven't tested if the upgraded backend is capable of HD playback. I just tried this so I wanted to share... Both my dvb-s2 (TechnoTrend S2-3600 and most likely also the original PCTV 452e) and my new dual dvb-t tuner Hauppauge Nova-TD (see http://wiki.freebsd.org/WebcamCompat ) work with an universal remote configured as an rc5 remote Hauppauge PVR-350 (I used a Logitech Harmony but other universal remotes should also work as long as they can use the PVR-350 config), if I set the /usr/local/etc/rc_keymaps/haupp keymap using ir-keymap(1) installed by the multimedia/v4l-utils port: ir-keymap -d /dev/input/event0 -w /usr/local/etc/rc_keymaps/haupp (you can ignore the error about setting protocol which doesn't work since webcamd doesn't emulate Linux' /sys nodes), and then configure lirc for devinput as described in the lirc port's pkg-message, quote: webcamd 3.0.0.1 now supports /dev/input/eventX (X there can be for example 0, 8, 16 etc) and uses it exclusively for almost all tuners, only mceusb IR-only devices now support both interfaces. So if you don't get a /dev/lircX device node anymore and want to make lirc use a remote with such a tuner you now need the lirc devinput driver, if you start lircd via the rc.d script set lircd_flags and lircd_device in rc.conf(5), like: lircd_flags="-H devinput" lircd_device="/dev/input/event0" The example lircd.conf includes the devinput config file too so if all goes well irw(1) should still work with such tuners and show buttons pressed [...] (and yes, irw(1) works with the PVR350 config.) Btw I used this particular remote since a) it's rc5 (which both these tuners' shipped remotes use) and b) it was one with one of the most buttons out of the available rc5 keymaps in /usr/local/etc/rc_keymaps so I can assign extra buttons to custom functions using lirc too (which I still need to do, I want to define at least buttons to start either of vdr-sxfe or xbmc...) Enjoy, :) Juergen From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Sat Aug 20 17:33:48 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 805D9106566C for ; Sat, 20 Aug 2011 17:33:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from hselasky@c2i.net) Received: from swip.net (mailfe05.c2i.net [212.247.154.130]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1121C8FC0A for ; Sat, 20 Aug 2011 17:33:47 +0000 (UTC) X-Cloudmark-Score: 0.000000 [] X-Cloudmark-Analysis: v=1.1 cv=b20eX9+WwT+rchjRp65q2r9rWd5NV3fsbYwDDw8k8E8= c=1 sm=1 a=SvYTsOw2Z4kA:10 a=lRxhzO4VffEA:10 a=WQU8e4WWZSUA:10 a=kj9zAlcOel0A:10 a=CL8lFSKtTFcA:10 a=i9M/sDlu2rpZ9XS819oYzg==:17 a=OdR5sfXFAAAA:8 a=9t7EJV_ghE3lv9ALt48A:9 a=CjuIK1q_8ugA:10 a=i9M/sDlu2rpZ9XS819oYzg==:117 Received: from [188.126.198.129] (account mc467741@c2i.net HELO laptop002.hselasky.homeunix.org) by mailfe05.swip.net (CommuniGate Pro SMTP 5.2.19) with ESMTPA id 166617814 for multimedia@freebsd.org; Sat, 20 Aug 2011 19:23:45 +0200 From: Hans Petter Selasky To: multimedia@freebsd.org Date: Sat, 20 Aug 2011 19:21:16 +0200 User-Agent: KMail/1.13.5 (FreeBSD/8.2-STABLE; KDE/4.4.5; amd64; ; ) X-Face: *nPdTl_}RuAI6^PVpA02T?$%Xa^>@hE0uyUIoiha$pC:9TVgl.Oq, NwSZ4V"|LR.+tj}g5 %V,x^qOs~mnU3]Gn; cQLv&.N>TrxmSFf+p6(30a/{)KUU!s}w\IhQBj}[g}bj0I3^glmC( :AuzV9:.hESm-x4h240C`9=w MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <201108201921.16130.hselasky@c2i.net> Cc: Subject: New midipp and cuse4bsd-kmod ports ready for testing X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 20 Aug 2011 17:33:48 -0000 Hi, Some new software is available for testing before it hits the official ports tree: svn --username anonsvn --password anonsvn \ checkout svn://svn.turbocat.net/i4b/trunk/ports i4b/trunk/ports/audio/midipp Version: 1.0.5 Log: Added support for defining drum patterns.
