I like this window manager a lot and would like to get past this problem. I am running 9.0 Beta3 but it also happens on 8.2 Stable. When I am in Firefox and attempt to view a video either on a website or from an email (gmail) using mplayer, everything freezes. I cannot go to any other desk top via a mouse click or using the keyboard. I am unable to do anything other than ctl-alt-fx and get to another virtual terminal. Going to another virtual termonal and running top show the system is 100% idle and the mplayer process is at STOP. I can go to virtual terminal 1 and use ctl-C to kill the x session. The weird part is if I change my .xinitrc to exec xmonad instead of i3, then everything works as it is supposed to. I can view the videos and move using the mouse or the keyboard. Can anyone give me a suggestion? I can supply any other date from this system that is needed. Thanks Robert
