If the controller is a plain AX88772, please manually edit the following line in if_axe.c(line number 166). from AXE_DEV(LENOVO, ETHERNET, AXE_FLAG_772B), to AXE_DEV(LENOVO, ETHERNET, AXE_FLAG_772), Unlike other BSDes, FreeBSD supports hardware checksum offloading for AX88772B. Their web site is not clear what controller chipset was used. Time I did so I guess, in case this may be a more recent regression and not specific to the T400. As soon as I can find a USB keyboard I'll see how 9.1-RELEASE goes on a friend's T500, which seems generally similar (going on their combined service manuals). > > Well, the earlier resume issues on UHCI might still not be fixed? Which suspend you mean system/resume suspend or USB suspend/resume? You should implement a musb_set_hw_power_sleep() too. This handles system going into suspend. You should probably reset that adapter at this point. static void musb_set_hw_power_sleep(struct usb_bus *bus, uint32_t state) { struct ehci_softc *sc = EHCI_BUS2SC(bus); switch (state) { case USB_HW_POWER_SUSPEND: case USB_HW_POWER_SHUTDOWN: ehci_suspend(sc); break; case USB_HW_POWER_RESUME: ehci_resume(sc); break; default: break; } } If the musb requires that you stop tokens before going in and out of suspend, you need to add functions like this: ehci_device_resume/ehci_device_suspend > > On the related note: can somebody suggest budget USB protocol analyzer > with support for high-speed bus? > http://www.totalphase.com/products/beagle_usb480/ There are more, but I don't have the list right now. You can probably just remove this check. We don't support LOW speed in device mode. - - if ((udev->speed != USB_SPEED_FULL) && - (udev->speed != USB_SPEED_HIGH)) { - /* not supported */ - return; + if (sc->sc_mode != MUSB2_HOST_MODE) { + if ((udev->speed != USB_SPEED_FULL) && + (udev->speed != USB_SPEED_HIGH)) { + /* not supported */ + return; + } } The musbotg_channel_free function is not sufficient! You need to program a non-existing device address like 127 and wait for 2 ms I recommend. The ABORT bits don't work with this controller last time I tried them! You can verify this by loading and unloading the wireless driver. I guess that IN tokens don't stop when you unload the driver. You will see this using an USB analyzer. +#define MUSB2_MAX_DEVICES (USB_MAX_DEVICES - 1) +static void +musbotg_channel_free(struct musbotg_softc *sc, struct musbotg_td *td) +{ + + DPRINTFN(1, "ep_no=%d\n", td->channel); + + if (sc->sc_mode == MUSB2_DEVICE_MODE) + return; + + if (td == NULL) + return; + if (td->channel == -1) + return; + + musbotg_ep_int_set(sc, td->channel, 0); + sc->sc_channel_mask &= ~(1 << td->channel); + td->channel = -1; /* force transfer failure */ MUSB2_WRITE_1(sc, MUSB2_REG_RXFADDR(0), 127); XXX channel should not be re-used until after 2*125us. But the USB issues seems separate from the graphics issues. My experience with suspend/resume on a TP X201 (Ironlake) with stable/9 (recent as of a couple of days) is as follows: With just the text console (no X), suspend/resume seems to work, except that the backlight does not come back on. (Have not tested Xorg with vesa driver.) With Intel/KMS graphics, suspend/resume partly works too. The backlight does come back on, but then the graphics wedges with a "GPU hung". Can provide logs of this. I will try head tomorrow to see if that makes any difference. Last time I did, there wasn't any. I have not noticed any USB issues, however, but will make some more tests. From the logs you sent I see: That the INTERRUPT endpoint is stalling: DONE-INTR-EP=00000084,SPD=FULL,NFR=1,SLEN=0,IVAL=1,ERR=STALLED Then the USB stack will try to clear the stall. And the clearing of stall also fails: DONE-CTRL-EP=00000000,SPD=FULL,NFR=1,SLEN=0,IVAL=0,ERR=STALLED These messages are mandatory to implement per usb.org specifications. And I know Linux and Windows does not use these very much. In other words I looks like the Arduino could need some more USB certification! After a given amount of stalling, the FreeBSD USB stack will reset the device, which gives you the re-enumeration you are observing. This case can be prevented by setting: sysctl hw.usb.no_cs_fail=1 Then try again! --HPS From owner-freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jun 28 11:10:02 2013 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@smarthost.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [8.8.178.115]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 320795F2 for ; Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gnats@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206c::16:87]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0A4FC11D4 for ; Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:02 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.7/8.14.7) with ESMTP id r5SBA1CV083820 for ; Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.7/8.14.7/Submit) id r5SBA1KE083819; Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:01 GMT (envelope-from gnats) Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:01 GMT Message-Id: <201306281110.r5SBA1KE083819@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-usb@FreeBSD.org Cc: From: Hans Petter Selasky Subject: Re: usb/179505: Kernel detaches Arduino Leonardo (and similar) board umodem after the arduino boots X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.14 Precedence: list Reply-To: Hans Petter Selasky List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2013 11:10:02 -0000 The following reply was made to PR usb/179505; it has been noted by GNATS.
