Please note that the slush will not apply to /htdocs documents. As usual, this is not a real freeze and requires no formal commit approval procedure for your commit, but you are kindly requested not to commit large, structural changes during that period. Tagging of the doc tree is scheduled to take place on 26 September, 2014. The update of the misc/freebsd-doc-* ports should take place on 29 September, 2014. It now says: > > To keep jail loopback traffic off the host's loopback network > interface lo0, a second loopback interface is created by adding > an entry to /etc/rc.conf:... I guess my question was more "why?" This isn't ezjail-specific, and neither of the other two jail tutorials in this chapter mention lo1. If having lo1 is important, then we should explain why and probably do so in the first jail example and then apply it consistently in all the jail examples. They "why" should detail if this is an optional "nice to have" or if this is "critical to security and apps can break out of jails otherwise". My assumption is the former, but seeing it documented as a mandatory step in the ezjail config implies the latter to me. -- John Baldwin From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Aug 26 08:20:49 2014 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ADH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id BDDE19BE; Tue, 26 Aug 2014 08:20:49 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mailout08.t-online.de (mailout08.t-online.de [194.25.134.20]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mailout00.t-online.de", Issuer "TeleSec ServerPass DE-1" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 7D2A737FB; Tue, 26 Aug 2014 08:20:49 +0000 (UTC) Received: from fwd41.aul.t-online.de (fwd41.aul.t-online.de [172.20.27.139]) by mailout08.t-online.de (Postfix) with SMTP id 318B21BEE17; Tue, 26 Aug 2014 10:20:46 +0200 (CEST) Received: from [192.168.119.33] (bVdudUZboh93d0hbuP+EAAEclfvXAAhpKxrNgOfnXlgl-qsjXadHi8HQFoRaqXzZyp@[84.154.101.219]) by fwd41.t-online.de with (TLSv1.2:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA encrypted) esmtp id 1XMBzh-1eS5lA0; Tue, 26 Aug 2014 10:20:45 +0200 Message-ID: <53FC435C.9000905@freebsd.org> Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2014 10:20:44 +0200 From: Stefan Esser User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/31.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Sergey Kandaurov Subject: Re: [PATCH] Missing references to vt(4) "NEWCONS" in man-pages References: <53F59FE3.7030802@freebsd.org> <20140821085540.GA9402@omg> In-Reply-To: <20140821085540.GA9402@omg> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-ID: bVdudUZboh93d0hbuP+EAAEclfvXAAhpKxrNgOfnXlgl-qsjXadHi8HQFoRaqXzZyp X-TOI-MSGID: 67ae4d33-a563-4571-afcb-c4550bb20d57 Cc: "freebsd-hackers@freebsd.org" , freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18-1 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2014 08:20:49 -0000 Am 21.08.2014 um 10:55 schrieb Sergey Kandaurov: > On Thu, Aug 21, 2014 at 09:29:39AM +0200, Stefan Esser wrote: >> Hi, > > a couple of nits inline Thank you very much for the corrections. Recommended Test Ordering It doesn't mention "make check-plist" or "make stage-qa". The "make check-orphans" I believe is part of "make check-plist". This is important to fix because I ask a lot of people to prove their new port works, they follow these instructions, but still errors pass that could be caught.
