You may be on to something with DGA. > I thought DGA was automatically enabled in my X server, but possibly not. > I'll look into it. Is this an Option flag in my Modules section? Errm, not quite. You can specify to disable it there, from XF86Config(5): Example: the extmod module (which contains a miscellaneous group of server extensions) can be loaded, with the XFree86-DGA extension disabled by using the following entry: SubSection "extmod" Option "omit XFree86-DGA" EndSubSection But note that if you auto-generate a config file (e.g. XF86 -config), this seems to be the default. I've always had to specifically enable it on XFree86-4, IIRC. > If it's any help at all, I do get an output from fxtv -debug startup that > reports DGA info. That would be interesting, also 'xdpyinfo' will have: XFree86-DGA etc. in the output if DGA is enabled - or just run the 'dga' test program which will complain if it's not present, again IIRC :) Cheers, AS --==_Exmh_914689104P Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (FreeBSD) Comment: Exmh version 2.5 07/13/2001 iD8DBQE8bY8mPHh895bDXeQRAq7VAKChrDiGuZ4aJQWDHzqmL/8LCriFqQCgrWFr oAkmiLTgAvB8WC4DP70cCW8= =5eJE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --==_Exmh_914689104P-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
