If you need to change the settings on the card you have to boot into dos and use the 3COM utility (it is available on their website.) Someone has actually written a linux utility to configure the card. Search google for 3c509 linux config or something similiar. Or download and make a freedos bootdisk. It supposedly can run most dos utilities.
