The main objective is the automation of JDK/JRE build and run dependency checking. The original version was aimed to ease the life of porters. Although it has proved to be useful and reliable to a great extend, we are currently working on a new version. We intend to reach a high degree of flexibility to cope with the recent increase of available JDK/JRE flavors. Furthermore, the new version will be easier to maintain, which means improved reliability, and hopefully more frequent updates. For more information on the subject, please read: http://www.esil.univ-mrs.fr/~hquiroz/freebsd/bsd.java.mk-2.0.html This PR is to centralize testing efforts regarding bsd.java.mk 2.0. I have packaged the latest development release so it may be installed easily on any system, and also deinstalled easily with no hurt to the system. So I ask any volunter to install and test it for as many Java ports as you can. Only this way we may claim bsd.java.mk 2.0 stable enough to be commited. I would really like to have this commited before 5.3-RELEASE which is expected to be a decisive release (becoming -STABLE branch BTW). You will find a list of all (known) Java ports: http://www.esil.univ-mrs.fr/~hquiroz/freebsd/bsd.java.mk-2.0-ports.html For each one, it is indicated whether or not the port installs successfully with bsd.java.mk 2.0 (and the possible reasons why it does not install). Please report your success at installing any of the port that are not yet marked as 'OK'. Also, please report any failure at installing a Java port with bsd.java.mk 2.0. Failure reports should be sent as follow-ups to this PR whereas success notification should be sent directly to me: herve.quiroz@esil.univ-mrs.fr. Please read the current status of a port before sending a success report: try not to send success report for a port that is already marked as 'OK'. As it the case for any development stage, take note that this is UNSTABLE software so you test it at your own risks. >How-To-Repeat: - Download the latest release from http://www.esil.univ-mrs.fr/~hquiroz/freebsd/bsd.java.mk-2.0.html - untar - make install - (re)install any Java port and possibly report success or failure >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
