I didn't feel that the patches were all that bad, although I wasn't in total agreement with the direction you took. However, your constant committing over the top of my requests to wait has left this situation unworkable for me. Therefore, I've taken the step I mentioned to you previously of completely removing all gnome support from ports/x11/xscreensaver. I'm sorry that this step became necessary, but you and I have very different ideas of how this port should be managed. I think you should be free to pursue your ideas in the xscreensaver-gnome port free from the encumbrance of actually having to cooperate with your fellow commiters. I think that ultimately, seperating the ports will work to both of our advantages. My priority has always been to make the xscreensaver port work for the majority (the non-gnome case) of our users, which it does admirably. Your priority, whether justified or not, has been to streamline things for our gnome users. By splitting this into seperate ports, we both get what we want, as do the respective user bases we serve. Given that this situation has reached its final, if not somewhat unfortunate conclusion, I fully expect that you, or other members of the gnome team, shall make no further commits to the xscreensaver port. As I've mentioned to you in the past, my next step, should you fail to abide by the guidelines I've established, will be a formal complaint about your behavior to the core team. I sincerely hope that we can avoid that step. Doug To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-gnome" in the body of the message
