A production machine is _very_ different from a fun-and-games or hobby machine. Just as the thought of replacing FreeBSD with NT to run my production Web site chills the blood in my veins, so the thought of trying to get FreeBSD to replace my Windows desktop seems fraught with peril, and it serves no useful purpose. Every OS has its niche. And the FreeBSD niche is not on the desktop ... that's Windowsland. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roel Kroes" To: "Anthony Atkielski" ; "Deman" Cc: Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 14:45 Subject: Re: home pc use > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Anthony Atkielski" > To: "Deman" > Cc: > Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 2:11 PM > Subject: Re: home pc use > > That list looks to me like a perfectly normal list for a self employed > software / web developer / casual gamer (for example).
