The combination of FreeBSD with the Apache web server does support virtual web hosting. I've heard that the wu-ftpd also supports virtual ftp hosting. You general accomplish this by binding multiple IP addresses to an interface, configuring your DNS to advertise each name on a different IP address, and configuring the web/ftp software to correlate the host to the IP address mapping and use different document trees, or chroot's accordingly.
