The problem is that the IP address of the client is proxy-arp'ed, and mrouted doesn't consider the tunnel valid: Client Server | +----+ +----+ | <-- Ethernet (with mbone) | | 207.76.205.X | | | | +--------------------------------+ +---+ <-- 207.76.205.Y | | ^^ PPP connection ^^ | | | <-- 207.76.205.X (proxy) +----+ +----+ | | Both machines are running 960801-SNAP. I can't just run an mrouted tunnel from 207.76.205.Y to 207.76.205.X because mrouted considers that ridiculous, since the IP addresses seem to be on the same subnet, and it won't do it.
