No, the SMP limitations are (currently) in FreeBSD. The SMP code in FreeBSD is very tightly tied to Intel's SMP architecture. While it's theoretically possible to modify FreeBSD for non-Intel SMP, it would be a lot of work. For more information, see: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=693466+696393+/usr/local/www/db/text/1999/freebsd-current/19990214.freebsd-current The bottom line is that (curretnly) only Intel chips can be used for FreeBSD SMP. -- Darryl Okahata darrylo@sr.hp.com DISCLAIMER: this message is the author's personal opinion and does not constitute the support, opinion, or policy of Hewlett-Packard, or of the little green men that have been following him all day.
