But I can't play a wav and Gnome is silent. I did find a message in the archives that said that this could be fixed by booting Windows and then re-booting FreeBSD, but I don't have Windows available, so I have never been able to try it. The message said that once Windows had been started that the audio would work until the system lost power. Then you need to boot Windows again.
