Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I seem to be having a problem with a server crashing constantly. I had a server running 3.5-STABLE for a while with natd as a firewall/router and it worked just fine. But recently I moved all that functionality to a server which was newer hardware and was also running FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE installed right off the CD. Since I have started using that system it has been crashing and rebooting gives no indication as to why in /var/log/messages. I would assume I would see a kernel panic, but I see nothing. So I have a monitor on it now and it just crashed for the second time today. I forget what it said exactly, but it mentioned something about a page error and natd was mentioned below. This does not make any sense to me. I have the synced to RELENG_4 and I have a buildworld ready to install, but I am unsure if that will be the end to it. What can I do to solve this for good? Where can I get more information on my server for this error? Is there a log file I should look in besides /var/log/messages? Is there a known bug for this kind thing? My hardware... A SCSI system disk, 2 IDE drives for storage, lots of memory, 2 3Com cards and a Pentium 550 (celeron). The load is typically very load on this machine. (0.04 or so) It acts as a fileserver, but the system disk is not shared, only the extra IDE drives so competition for the swapspace should not be an issue.
