My board is a K7S6A with SiS745 North- and Southbridge. pciconf -lv tells me that my IDE Controller is the following: none0@pci0:2:5: class=0x010180 card=0x0a411019 chip=0x55131039 rev=0xd0 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS)' device = 'SiS5513 EIDE Controller (A,B step)' class = mass storage subclass = ATA The interesting dmesg lines are: jmmr# dmesg | egrep '(ad0|ata|ATA)' pci0: at device 2.5 (no driver attached) ata0 at port 0x3f6,0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa0 ata1 at port 0x376,0x170-0x177 irq 15 on isa0 ad0: 38166MB [77545/16/63] at ata0-master PIO4 acd0: CDROM at ata1-master PIO4 ad0 ran via UDMA100 on 4.8-PRERELEASE and 5.0-RELEASE. acd0 running via PIO is ok, since hw.ata.atapi_dma is set to 0.
