I am fairly sure that my kernel is configured properly (default) and infact both the card and tape drive are detected properly (shown below) but when I try and execute any command involving the tape drive (like tar -tvf /dev/rst0 or mt status) I get the following message several times: st0(aic0:2:0): timed out What am I doing wrong?? Here's the relevant boot info, if seems to be detecting everything properly. aic0 at 0x340-0x35f irq 11 on isa aic0 waiting for scsi devices to settle (aic0:2:0): "HP HP35480A T603" type 1 removable SCSI 2 st0(aic0:2:0): Sequential-Access density code 0x13, variable blocks, write-enabled Thanks for any help!
