I'd be surprised if the two drivers weren't different. But you're more likely to find a hack for OpenBSD on an OpenBSD list than on a FreeBSD list. You're also more likely to find someone who can commit fixes to OpenBSD after looking at the FreeBSD code on an OpenBSD list.
