Regardless of how technically able those compilers are they are not going to compare to the perception that HotSpot has currently and will make the FreeBSD JVM project only be percieved as second rate until it's fully working. It works under Win32, Linux, etc... so it must work with FreeBSD. It's as simple as that and industry pressure driven regardless of the technical merits of those compilers.
