Just got back to it, kernel is my normal config checked it out. Built kernel today from stable. I get the following: npx0: INT 16 interface changing root device wd0s3a Pentium F00F found, installing workaround adding sd0s1b as swap /dev/wd0a on /: specified device does not match mounted device wd0a is my boot device, wd0s3a isn't a filesystem, wd0s3e is /usr.
