I have saved the image from corel draw as a jpg in grey, and then full colour and copied the files to FreeBSD. The image is a large file, 420K. And I want it to appear as full page width (7in), about 1 inch high. When I look at it with xv in FreeBSD it looks good. But when I put it in a html page and look at it with Netscape, it looks too low res. Same when I print it to my HP inkjet printer using apsfilter. If I do a right click on the image while in Netscape and save it, the image still looks good when viewed with xv. I see a lot of images on the web, many are very small files, and they look pretty good. Is there a type of jpg that I should be saving this image as to achieve better results?
