Apple I would actually say is getting the closest, they might even
qualify as innovative if I spot them the benefit of the doubt in a few
places. :)

They've seriously revamped the configuration file and authentication
stuff with NetInfo (in some decidedly "non-classic Unix" ways), their
device driver framework is quite different and they've succeeded in
honestly putting an integrated Desktop GUI on top of a Unix-based OS
without giving it the appearance that it was simply bolted on, like
CDE.  Yeah, Apple's being innovative, perhaps because they can both
afford to and truly need to.
