My FreeBSD 4.2-BETA box (Cvsupped at Nov 13 10:27:57 JST) doesn't attach ATAPI CD-ROM device. % dmesg | grep ata atapci0: port 0xa800-0xa80f at device 31.1 on pci0 ata0: at 0x1f0 irq 14 on atapci0 ad1: 43979MB [89355/16/63] at ata0-slave UDMA100 The old kernel (Cvsupped at Nov 1 12:30:28 2000 JST) found acd0 normally. % grep ata /s2/var/log/dmesg.today atapci0: port 0xa800-0xa80f at device 31.1 on pci0 ata0: at 0x1f0 irq 14 on atapci0 ata3 at port 0x170-0x177,0x376 irq 15 on isa0 ad1: 43979MB [89355/16/63] at ata0-slave UDMA100 acd0: CD-RW at ata3-master using BIOSPIO This box has two ata devives: Primary Slave: HDD Seconday Master: CD-R/RW Drive.
