I run -CURRENT on an asus a7m266-d with dual athlon mp 1900s, and the recent 
stability hacks have not helped me. I do NOT run with full preemption, but 
if I run "too much stuff" I get a crash within hours. I am usually running X 
so I don't even see the panic messages unfortunately :-(.
