I had W98 and Linux installed. I replaced w98 with WNT with NO PROBLEMS. I was so suprised! It seems NT does not mess with your bootloader. I had a bootdisk for linux all ready, and assumed I would have to re-install lilo etc. but when I rebooted there was lilo! Now, I have NO IDEA if you would be as lucky with FBSD, but that was my experiance. I would still back everything up. NT is more "professional" in its handling of install etc. Don't trust it too much, but it's better than W9X.
