I switched to tty1 to do a "make clean" in a port I had just installed. The command did not take effect so I did a CTRL C. As soon as I did CTRL C the screen went blank. I was running X org at the time also (Xfce4). Even though I have kerenel debugging enabled I did not get any output in /var/crash. Here is what I believe to be the relevant output from /var/log/messages: Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: lock order reversal Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: 1st 0xc1cfec44 wi0 (network driver) @ /usr/src/sys/dev/wi/if_wi.c:865 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: 2nd 0xc1ce8c7c radix node head (radix node head) @ /usr/src/sys/net/route.c:1171 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: KDB: stack backtrace: Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: kdb_backtrace(0,ffffffff,c08ced00,c08cfe58,c085c6dc) at kdb_backtrace+0x29 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: witness_checkorder(c1ce8c7c,9,c0807b4b,493) at witness_checkorder+0x544 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: _mtx_lock_flags(c1ce8c7c,0,c0807b4b,493,c08d00b0) at _mtx_lock_flags+0x5b Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: rtinit(c1d02600,2,0) at rtinit+0xb0 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: in_ifscrub(c1cfe000,c1d02600,c0866d7c,d41a09a0,c063e387) at in_ifscrub+0x32 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: rip_ctlinput(0,c1d026c4,0) at rip_ctlinput+0x21 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: pfctlinput(0,c1d026c4) at pfctlinput+0x2b Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: if_unroute(c1cfe000,1,0,d41a0a28,c066b38e) at if_unroute+0x43 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: if_down(c1cfe000,0,c07fc4f4,d8,40) at if_down+0xf Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: if_detach(c1cfe000,c1cfe000) at if_detach= +0xe6 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: ether_ifdetach(c1cfe000,c1cfe000,c1cfea08,c1cfe000,c1cfe000) at ether_ifdetach+0 x28 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: ieee80211_ifdetach(c1cfe000,c1cfe000,c1cfe000,0,c1cfd000) at ieee80211_ifdetach+ 0x31 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: wi_detach(c1cfd000) at wi_detach+0x61 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: device_detach(c1cfd000) at device_detach+= 0x57 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: pccard_detach_card(c1abf800,d41a0adc,c061fcd2,c1abf800,c1ade540) at pccard_detac h_card+0x41 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: pccard_suspend(c1abf800) at pccard_suspen= d+0xb Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1abfb80,c1abfb80,c1ade580,c1ade540,c1abfb80) at bus_generic _suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: cbb_suspend(c1abfb80) at cbb_suspend+0x59 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1a84580,c1adf980,c085ae20,c1adf980,3) at bus_generic_suspen d+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: pci_suspend(c1a84580) at pci_suspend+0x59 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1a9a300) at bus_generic_suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1a84080,c25f7140,c085ae20,c25f7140,c) at bus_generic_suspen d+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: pci_suspend(c1a84080) at pci_suspend+0x59 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c198da00) at bus_generic_suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1a62a00) at bus_generic_suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c1a62b80) at bus_generic_suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: bus_generic_suspend(c197ca80,1,505a6a0,0,c217d200) at bus_generic_suspend+0x4a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: acpi_SetSleepState(c1a62980,3,0,d41a0c58,c0624143) at acpi_SetSleepState+0x14a Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: acpi_pm_func(0,c1a62980,1,d41a0ca0,c077b277) at acpi_pm_func+0x5b Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: power_pm_suspend(1) at power_pm_suspend+0= x23 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: scgetc(c091a6a0,2,c062b82e,c1bcf500,c0901920) at scgetc+0x4ef Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: sckbdevent(c0901920,0,c091a6a0) at sckbdevent+0x1cc Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: atkbd_intr(c0901920,0,d41a0d1c,c05f9c24,c0901920) at atkbd_intr+0x20 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: atkbd_isa_intr(c0901920) at atkbd_isa_intr+0x16 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: ithread_loop(c198d880,d41a0d48,c198d880,c05f9b00,0) at ithread_loop+0x124 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: fork_exit(c05f9b00,c198d880,d41a0d48) at fork_exit+0xa4 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x8 Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: --- trap 0x1, eip =3D 0, esp =3D 0xd41a0d7c, ebp =3D 0 --- Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: Interrupt storm detected on "irq11: bge0 fwohci+"; throttling interrupt source Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: wi0: detached Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: fwohci0: fwohci_pci_suspend Sep 8 13:09:34 notebook2 kernel: fwohci0: Phy 1394a available S400, 1 port= s.
