Which version of BIND do you run? You can find this out by doing: % dig @your.name.server version.bind chaos txt If the version is lower than 8.2.3-REL (for example the 8.2.3-T* shipped with FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE), you will want to upgrade to BIND 8.2.3-REL.
