It was running stably for a few months, and all of a sudden now it dies every 15 minutes - few hours (depending on how much it is being used - it seems to go down quicker the more its being used). It was originally running 4.5-STABLE, then upgraded to 4.6-RELEASE, and is now back to 4.5-RELEASE. In all cases, I get an error message like the following (taken while it is running 4.5-RELEASE): ad0: WRITE command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting ata0: resetting devices .. device disappeared! 1 done ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ca s=80 e=00 ad0: error executing command - resetting ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ca s=80 e=00 ad0: error executing command - resetting ata0-master: timeout waiting to give command=ca s=80 e=00 ad0: error executing command - resetting (freeze) What exactly does this mean? Impending hard drive death? Disk controller gone on the fritz?
