My configuration: OS: 5.2-CURRENT from 2003.12.19, UFS1 CPU: P4 1.8 GHz MB: EP-4BDAE http://web.epox.com/html/motherboard.asp?product=EP-4BDAE&lang=1 When I start vmware3 and press a button "Power On", I see the messages on xconsole - "ad0: WARNING - WRITE_DMA recovered from missing interrupt". After a while my FreeBSD box hangs. I disconnected in a configuration vmware3 all devices, but it doesn't help. When I used 5.1-CURRENT (September, October), I had no problems, except PR ports/57465. My ad0 drive Barracuda ATA IV ST340016A 40 GB. # cat /var/log/messages | grep ata Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: atapci0: port 0xf000-0xf00f at device 31.1 on pci0 Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: ata0: at 0x1f0 irq 14 on atapci0 Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: ata0: [MPSAFE] Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: ata1: at 0x170 irq 15 on atapci0 Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: ata1: [MPSAFE] Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: ad0: 38166MB [77545/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA100 Dec 19 17:00:21 atlantis kernel: acd0: CDROM at ata1-master PIO4 My second FreeBSD box with vmware3 works fine and doesn't output any messages.
