The * firmware upgrade sez that the upgrade is only for 912L -> 915L. I had a "581H", and the firmware upgrade did let me change it to "L915". I don't think it stores "deltas" in those files anyway (they are all the same size), more likely they are just new firmware images and the description file talked about the changes between 912 and 915.
