The x11/XFree86 port is indeed at version 3.something (3.3.6 to be exact). For XFree86 4.x you would want the x11/XFree86-4 port. The reason the old XFree86 port is still in the tree is that some older hardware is not supported by XFree86 4.x so some people still need the 3.x version of XFree86. -- Erik Trulsson ertr1013@student.uu.se
