That's the impression that I got from Justin when I talked to him briefly at USENIX. They use NCR 53C94 controllers on the 300/400/500 models & NCR 53CF94-2 controllers on the 600/700/800/900 models. From a *very* brief look through the esp & amd header files, the interface looks similar.
