Both drives are detected by BIOS and by windows. However freebsd assignes a device to the cd burner (samsung) only every now and then. Checking dmesg and only acd0 will usually appear. After a reboot there is a fairly good chance that acd1 will appear. I've build and installed a current world and kernel cvsup 4.8 yesterday and changed the IDE ribbon. does anyone have any ideas?
