There are a couple of ways that you can get bash and other software. First, you can use sysinstall. Read section 2.10.11 "Install Packages" in the Handbook. It can be accessed here: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/install-post.html Or, you can install the ports collection which also contains bash and lots of other software. To install the ports collection use portsnap. You can read about it in the Handbook section 24.3 "Portsnap: A Ports Collection Update Tool".
