The below site helped me solve it. www.deja.com has had many posters to newsgroups asking about it over the years. Always a good source to look for an answer to a question. (as this is not a FreeBSD issue per-say, hunting about for the words JetDirect and ex3 will get you the data you sought.) The other 2 ports are 9101 and 9102 on a direct telnet (as memory serves) So you need a print driver that can establish a telnet session to the box and push your data out to thoes ports. The solution I used in the past (and now) is LPRng. You can find this in the extensive ports library. You could also just get the ifhp part of LPRng and use that. The DOCS for LPRng go into this filter. (And I just looked because I didn't remember the telnet address) On Tue, 14 Sep 1999 pedro@qui.uc.pt wrote: >=20 > Hi! >=20 > I have a Jet Direct Print Server from HP! > Anyone knows how to print in a specific port of the remote print server? >=20 > The Jet direct has 3 ports but I only can print in "parallel port 1" >=20 > How can I get port 2 and 3 working from FreeBSD? >=20 >=20 > Thanks in advance, >=20 > Pedro >=20 >=20 > --------------------------------------------------- > Pedro Almeida > Departamento de F=EDsica > Universidade de Coimbra > 3000 Coimbra > Portugal >=20 > Tel: +351-39-852080 > Fax: +351-39-827703 > TM: +351-931-4039968 >=20 > E-Mail: pedro@qui.uc.pt > Sent on 14-Sep-99 at 23:45:08 > Fortune: While it may be true that a watched pot never boils, the one you= don't > keep an eye on can make an awful mess of your stove. > -- Edward Stevenson >=20 >=20 > This message was sent by XFMail running on > my Pentium Pro 200 FreeBSD Box > PGP key available upon request > -------------------------------------------------- >=20 >=20 > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message >=20 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
