If it still fails, then make sure BUILD_OPTIMIZED is unset. Also comment any CPUTYPE variables in /etc/make.conf. This particular error stems from having a faulty CPUTYPE detected/set somewhere. -- Mel Problem with today's modular software: they start with the modules and never get to the software part.
